Representation in Architecture (or Architecture as Representation)
Winter Term 2023/24
In this workshop, the previously created drawings were transformed into three-dimensional objects. Working in two-dimensional space has brought to light a range of new insights into graphic representations: That the space of the page is not always the same, that different
types of projection foreground different types of information, that compositional forms create different types of space, that colour and texture evoke different types of sensations. By adding another dimension to the drawings, another facet of the drawings was revealed and translated. Different forms of representation form the framework for what is possible in terms of design. These languages can express different things, and we can choose rather than accept defaults.
